Use this letter to demand that your landlord repay your deposit. You should send this letter by recorded delivery post and keep a copy for your own records, so that you can prove that your landlord received it. If the landlord does not respond to this letter, you can take the matter to court or if your deposit is protected in a deposit protection scheme, to their ADR scheme. Before taking the matter to court, however, it is important that you send this letter or else the court may decide that you have acted unreasonably. This document is for use in England and Wales only.
